Industry Engagement Manager (UK)<\/strong> <strong><span style=\"color: #444444;\">\u00a0<\/span>at Xero <\/strong>and <strong>Kevin Sefton, CEO at untied<\/strong><strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The AiP SIG is designed to bring together software developers, accountants and accountancy bodies, and representatives from the regulatory bodies such as HM Revenue &amp; Customs, HM Cabinet Office, Companies House and even Members of Parliament themselves.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">The Accountants in Practice SIG is currently engaging with:<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meeting quarterly, AiP discusses matters affecting the software products that firms of accountants use and, by extension, their clients. Agenda and Successes<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To date, AiP has raised issues on the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Digital Tax Accounts<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the group\u00a0has met with HMRC already to discuss how this might manifest themselves within computer software used by accountants and their clients.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Identity Assurance and Government Gateway<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the body is kept up to date on matters concerning Identity Assurance (now also know as GOV UK Verify) and the continuing lifecycle of the Government Gateway.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>HMRC APIs<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the group\u00a0meets to determine what APIs, as an industry, are required of HMRC and then lobbies when opportunities arise.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Agent Online Self Service<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the group\u00a0is kept updated by HMRC on the development of AOSS.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Richer Payments<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the group\u00a0met with a representative of the Payments Council to discuss future additional information to be included with electronic payments, such as payroll information, remittance advice and so on.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Penalties Regime<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the group\u00a0has provided detailed feedback on research being undertaken by HMRC as to the further automation of the penalties regime.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Post
